Morning musings

Today is Aiden's birthday party with a few of his school friends.
I am not prepared.
In fact, I forgot to order the cake.
I am hoping there is an acceptable already-made one available when the stores open this morning. I don't make cakes.
That's not true. I can make the cake. I just can't decorate it. I really suck at cake decorating.

Not that a group of 5 year olds will care.
But I care.

I am also hoping the rain goes away so we can take the hoard outside to play instead of trapping us all inside.

In other news our head deaconess came over for tea last night and we had a really nice talk. She is very discerning and a prayer warrior and she gave me a lot to think about.

I feel like I still have so much to learn about how to live out my faith. I'm always greatful when older, wiser women who are farther along in their faith-walk than I am take an interest in me. I can use all the help I can get.

Ok, I am off to do party prep.

I hope the party was fun and nobody lost an eye!

My birthday cake decorating choice for little boys was to just frost it plain and add some plastic toys as decoration.

The biggest hit when my oldest son was small was a plastic allegator that fit perfectly in a 9x13 pan.

Hi Tara...I am new to your blog. Your kind words about our beautiful new granddaughter made me smile...thank you!

I noticed the Capernwray link which also made me smile. Our middle daughter, Jackie, went to the Capernwray school in New Zealand several years ago. She had been at a turning point in her life, decided to go to New Zealand and ended up experiencing the Lord like she had never before! She met lots of kids from Canada, several from Saskachuen (forgive me, I have no idea how that is supposed to be spelled!)

Blessings on you and your beautiful family...
